Default Return of the disappearing aneurysm

Hello all,

It's been a long time since I was here last and I apologize.

Now, I need some advice or an ear.

I thing it was 2011 I had a Pipeline Embolization Device procedure for a 4mm Opthalmologic aneurysm. At the time I was lead to believe we can watch it or do several procedures but if untreated and it ruptures the outcome would not be pretty. I opted to be safe.

Fast forward to present. I just returned from another MRA. Over the past year I've had a couple and there were signs of leakage, seepage or something. Last week I had another MRA and after going to my Neurosurgeon he wanted to take the information to their Neuro board. The board decided it is likely the aneurysm has returned or there is another. I am scheduling a cerebral angiogram now. Apparently this is not something they have seen or see often

If surgery is needed then my options are surgery or recanalization of the existing pipeline device.

Does anyone have any knowledge of this happening and the outcomes.

Thanks so much,

Mike

I don't know anything about this, but you might want to post this on the Brain aneurysm foundation support forum where there are more people posting.
