I'm new to this board, but I like it already  I actually came on here to search for some answers (I'm 6 wks post-op unruptured clipping), but found this thread and had to comment.
Just today my friend took me to the grocery store and my husband called me on my cell. We talked, said our I love you's and see you in a little while, I rolled up the window instead of hanging up my phone  . We got a great laugh from that! Susie |

my short term memory loss
Hi everyone. These are some funny stories. Just a while back I put my purse in the frig and the milk in the cupboard.:D.. The other day I made my husband some coffee. He said..Thanks for the hot water honey!. I forgot to put the coffee in the coffee maker. I looked everywhere for my keys that morning and they were in my hand, looked for my glasses they were on the top of my head. My daughter laughs at me all the time. Scarey part is driving past the place i'm suppose to go. And forgetting where I'm going and Where I'm at. I guesss I shouldnt drive at this point in my life.
Share some more funny stories, I need the laugh and dont wanna feel alone in all this. |
Finally, a group that "gets it" I am always doing weird things. Some of the best happen at work, I am the board Secretary and I get all fired up over something and when I am recognized to speak, I have no idea why I wanted to make a point.
Many times I will say something and the moment the words are out of my mouth, good bye. Thank you all for sharing. I have another story that has nothing to do with memory, at the Summer National Fencing Chmpionships (I fence wheelchair now) I kept jumping the gun before the ref could say "fence" and he yellow carded me. I looked at him and said, "But Sean, I have seizures" He didn't buy it.:grouphug: |
Ruptured Aneurysm and Memory loss/confusion
I feel the same way you do! My mother is recovering from a ruptured brain aneurysm that happend in August and she is home and doing relatively well except her memory loss. She talks about things that never happend and beleives they are real. When we correct her she gets defensive and mad because she thinks she is right. When my dad tries to give her her medicine, she questions him everytime like he is trying to poison her. She can't remember conversations after 5 minutes of having them. Yet, she is still the same old sweet, caring mother, just gets everything confused and can't remember. I hope this gets better with time. It's really sad to see her like this. IF you look at her, you'd think she's fine. She still has the same old instincts to clean up after herself, thinks the same things are funny, but just gets confused and aggitated when she tries to talk. Have your doctors said anything about yoru husband and his memory problems?
