Hi Janet
Depending on the risk the doc's feel for a rupture, in my experience most docs won't do surgical repairs for aneurysms 3mm and under, unless they can see usually through an angeogram a weak vessell wall and conside a high risk for rupture. I had a rupture and clipping repair 4 years ago, I have a 3mm residual from that clipping left, as it was in a very risky spot and could not be totally obliterated for the fear of a stroke, and another 3mm on the other side remaining and I get these monitered yearly through a CT angeogram. I can honestly say I'm not thrilled with this, but I am taking better care of myself and learning to live with it. If it needs repaired one day i will be ready. Hope this helped, Ruthie |
