Default New Member needs help

I am brand new too these forums, I hope I don't do anything wrong or am in the wrong spot. My mom had an aneurysm clipped 11-26-08 and some days I wonder if we did the right thing. I love her dearly but am at my end. Can someone please help me with what to expect and maybe give me some ideas on ways to cope with the whole situation? Thank you.

Julie

Dear Julie: Your Mom did the right thing, better to have it clipped then to see it rupture. Or did it rupture first? How old is your mother? What part of the brain was the aneurysm? What is her state of health and post surgery situation now? It was hard for my daughter to cope with my aneurysms. Being the only daughter and the closest child she felt alot of responsibility. Mine was clipped on January 27, 2009. I also had one coiled last July. And, I still have a small one that the doctors will check yearly that is untreated. A clipped aneurysm will never give your Mom any more trouble. The brain takes a long time to heal. I am still swollen on the right side of my head and I am 9 weeks after surgery now. Nancy
