Hello all. I am new to this forum. I have been having significant neurological problems for the past 3 months. Prior to then, I was having minor issues (that I didn't even realize were issues). I had an MRI done on my brain and the report from the radiologist says NO FINDINGS. I am attaching several photos to this post, and will also attach a few more within the thread. I am very concerned that the item that the white arrows are pointing to could be an Aneurysm of the Posterior Inferior Cerebellar Artery. I am not due to see the Neurologist for my follow-up for another 4 weeks. His office said that if the Radiologist found anything that he would get me in sooner. I think the radiologist missed this, but don't know what to do. I am also working on getting an appointment at the Cleveland Clinic Neurology Center. If you have ANY relevant feedback, PLEASE share. I am scared. *Additionally, I will also be starting a new thread regarding Chiari I, which I believe the radiologist also missed. Thanks in advance for your time.

Jenny...... I went to my friends to ask about your MRI's, the best feedback I got was this from my friend Julie in NH:
Glenn, I'm sorry I don't know what that is. I do know that after my stroke it showed up as a white blob, in the back of my head, on my MRI. She has every right to ask the radiologist to look at those areas again. She can put a request, in writing, in at the hospital where the MRI was done to ask the radiologist to take a 2nd look at that area. Julie Hope this helps Jenny ....... Glenn |

Jenny .... I need to explain something. Myself and 12 other brain aneurysm survivors from all over the world keep in email contact and I asked them about your thumbnails. Here is a second opinion:
well it is hard for me to see the pics clearly.. and i am not a radiologist.. does this woman have prior annies? To my untrained eye it looks like it could be White Spots ( of which I have several on my brain) and they are lesions. But as i said I cant really see them very well. A lot of neuros will give a second opinion if your DR will send then the MRI's via email.. ask for a second opinion for sure and see what those areas are.. hopefully they are nothing, but if it is something then you need to find out! Suz Again I hope this helps too ........ Glenn |

Neither of those two ladies belongs to Neurotalk Jenny but both of them helped me understand about what happened to me. My short story is on page 2. Those two are the smartest normal people I know about brain aneurysms.

But i agree with above messages. Also for me all the Mri's and CT never found my aneurysm. It was not until i had a MRA that my world changed.
It is so important to be your own advocate as well, this is your body and health, request they look again, and also maybe doctor can put you on cancellation list. One last thought, the woman that did my MRA ....she called the doc that day, to notify him of issue. Just a thought Ouch |

Here is a third excellent reply Jenny
Glenn, the images are too small for me to actually see. If I were her, I would go to the Cleveland Clinic and have her make an appointment with Dr. David Fiorello. He is EXCELLENT!!!! If there is anything there, he will find it. Does she have a history, or a family history? Apparently there is some reason that she has these concerns. Just a regular MRI is not really the BEST diagnostic tool for diagnosing aneurysms. An MRA or a CTA would have been much better. I would call and make an appointment with Dr. Fiorello. Lori Glenn |

Hi Jenny
I have lots of white spots on my MRA/MRI's, because I have MS and I have also had an aneurysm clipped. Just to clarify, an MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging) shows the tissues of the brain, whereas MRA (Magnetic Resonance Angiography) will show up any abnormality in the blood vessels. My aneurysm was detected when they gave me an MRA in addition to the regular MRI I have yearly for my MS. It was a purely incidental finding. To me, and I am not a doctor, the white blob on your scan looks like a lesion. They are very common and lots of people have one or two, particularly as they get older. There are heaps of potential causes for this - some are bad, but not all are sinister. I have dozens of them, but their number and placement indicate that I have a demyelinating disease process happening. When you talk about having lots of neurological symptoms, what is happening to you? Do you have a family history of aneurysms, Chiari, or other neurological problems? Let us know how you get on with your doctor, even though four weeks sounds like a lifetime to you right now, try not to panic too much and make sure you write down the questions you have for the doctor. I suggest taking a trusted friend/partner into the appointment to make sure you don't miss any information. I hope everything goes well for you Lyn |

I find it very strange that Jenny hasn't come back to this forum and made a comment since 4/18 when she posted it.
