My son has been fish with Tourette, anxiety, and panic attacks recently. 4 years ago with ADHD. The anxiety and panic attacks have gotten really bad so we took him to a psychologist. This Dr. (Which at this moment I'm really struggling with calling him that) is only focused on the ADHD and when I started trying to focus on the other told me to lock myself in the bathroom when he started having an attack. REALLY!!!!!!
I can't even begin to explain our day(s) because it would just be to long on here but he is saying to just ignore it. I've been reading everything I can get my hands on and I can tell you what they don't say! They don't say mom lock yourself in the bathroom and it will go away!!!!!! Thank you for allowing me a min to vent. |

Hi Hudsmom,
I'm really sorry to read that the appointment didn't go very well. I had hoped it would have been more helpful. Is your son actually having anger episodes at all? I asked on the TS forum what his anxiety attacks were like because it reminded me of my own son when he was little and when everything became overwhelming for him he'd end up having an anger outburst and that was even when he was very young. It wasn't the same as regular bad behaviour. It was totally different. I'm just wondering why your psychologist would suggest looking yourself in the bathroom while your son is having a panic attack... Does what is happening sound like an anger episode? Description of Rage Attacks Triggers and pathways to Rage Attacks Sorry if I'm way off track but am just trying to understand what's happening after your son has his anxiety attacks. Hang on there. |

p.s. regarding the anxiety.
You might try to "Search this Forum" using the search feature over in the TS Forum for Anxiety and Inositol. There were some people who had seen a lot of benefit from taking the Inositol. I was going to try it myself but didn't get around to it. If you can't find the posts, let me know and I'll bring them up for you. |

Hopefully, what he meant was to not "feed into it".... adjusting diet can (not always does) work wonders. |
