Hi Phyllis,
So very sorry you're going through such a difficult time. I can only suggest talking to a professional. I have this "chatter" going on in my head a lot and I also deal with anxiety as well as other health issues. Sometimes this "chatter" gets very difficult to deal with. I promised myself last year that I was going to try CBT. Cognitive Behaviour Therapy... try to change some of my old patterns and the way I think and react. I didn't do it last year. I keep thinking it's a little late, and I wish it had been around when I was younger. I think it's really worth looking into if you have such anxiety, and/or the "chatter" or have intrusive thoughts. Not good. Feel better fast. |
Are you in therapy,on meds, going to support groups? All with self help skills can help. I have done every type of therapy in my life and know people who have done similar. I think it is going to vary what works for one person to another. In the mean time what are some ways you can work on being in the present? Is your life full with things you enjoy, people, etc? Maybe taking a class or doing something to feel excited about may help. Can you identify why at such a young age you are worried about when you pass on?

Living in the now, is something many people struggle with- including myself up to a year and a half ago. I used to be always thinking about what I was going ot do that nxt hour, or next day. But to an extent that is okay..but not always. I was diagnosed with a rare auto immune disease- Myasthenia Gravis which u prolly see up on the list. I have been hospitalized countless times, and I have been close to death 2 times. Once when I was ventilated and came off, i wasnt breathing for 3 minutes, the other when I was choking at home and couldnt breathe due to my disease. - This all makes me realize, that you cannot take anything for granted and you MUST live in the now. I also suffer from anxiety issues myself, yet have worked through most of them, depression is something I have not developed yet, and I hope not too. Yet i guess what I am trying to say is, you can do this, you can live in the now, you can be who ever you want to be, just put yourself first and allow yourself to become one with whatever you chose it to be- nature, work, etc. This is my first time posting in this forum- yet I know you are a strong woman who will not let this get the best of her- keep your head up! |
Thank you, everyone, who's, replied to this, since, I visited, last......

Benzodiazepines such as Klonopin (Clonazepam) http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682279.html and Ativan(Lorazepam) http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/druginfo/meds/a682053.html are both used for seizures but they are also anti-anxiety medications. I have an anxiety disorder and the only medication I use is Klonopin, as needed. |
Really??! Thank you, Snoopy!!!
:eek:I've heard of those, but, I didn't realize, they were used for
both issues??! :) Thank you, I'll ask my Dr. about it!!!:) Phyllis |
