Hi Jones,
I agree with Danny that you need to stop playing sports until the Attacks subside, but it is going to take much more than that.
Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Fear of Fear, rarely goes away untreated, and feeds upon itself, making the situation worse. As you are finding this leads down the path to Depression, which further weakens your ability to cope with the Anxiety.
While there are techniques to help, with your background and as a starting point for anyone with there issues, I urge you to see your GP as soon as possible for a referral to a specialist.
You may be helped with Counselling, it may take meds, but leaving these conditions untreated invariably makes them much worse.

I agree with you dave but im not willing to go down the med road again.

I will certainly look for counselling if my insurance covers it!

Thank you for your recommendation Dave! I have tried meditation in the past and was never able to achieve full relaxation and mindfullness. But im going to read more about it and try to make it a part of my everyday routine.

Hi Jones41

I used to go to a therapy group for people with mood disorders.

Another group member with OCD reported that she found that a combination of mindfulness/meditation methods (which Dave recommended and I endorse) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) was very helpful.

It might help if you found a therapist who has experience of using both those approaches when working with his/her clients.
