I have been having some serious panic/anxiety attacks in the last few days. More serious than the ones I have been getting previously. They are starting to disturb me alot. They (I think) are in relation to my sleep problems, where I keep waking up every 1-2 hours on avg. But there have been instances where I have woke up after 15-30 mins. My sleep doctor says there is nothing really abnormal. I have mild snoring. But the fact remains that Im still waking up every 1-2 hours usually. Its been really hard falling asleep because of the anxiety/panic issues. Sometimes I get really bad tension in my limbs (mostly in my arms *right arm usually*) and it jolts me in such a way I cant sleep. This is truly terrifying to me. I have had a nasty attack yesterday where I was crying and Im having an attack now. I had to stop prozac (20mg) because it was making my sleep problems worse and my heart palps/pvcs were coming back and were much worse. I was writing in my journal as a form of CBT, but lately that has stopped working. I cant get access to a psych doc who can prescribe meds for me until Sept 18th I dont think I can hold out that long

I am sorry to read about your experiences.
As far as your "mild snoring" is concerned, it might indicate sleep apnea, which can have unpleasant consequences. This might be worth discussing with your sleep doctor - there are ways in which sleep apnea can be diagnosed and treated.

Are you taking any magnesium supplements.?
Muscle tension and palpitations can happen if you are low in magnesium. Many people on NT use magnesium, including me. Here is my magnesium thread: I know it is long so do it a bit at a time. Aim for 1/2 the RDA which is about 200mg elemental, daily. The easiest form is SlowMag (its generic is Mag 64). Use one twice a day. (one of them at bedtime) MAGNESIUM Information: Most people do not consume enough magnesium daily and then have scary warnings from the body and brain to increase it. There are many sites on the net now (not so much when I started that thread) explaining magnesium. Avoid the OXIDE form as it is not absorbed from the GI tract and is sold now as a laxative. It is amazing how much better one can feel by fixing this one nutrient.

I bet you are low in testosterone or high in estradiol. depending on the individual that can cause panic attacks. my son developed progressively worse attacks and was given klonopin but after he received the HRT therapy to correct his testosterone and thyroid the panic attakcs went away and so did the anxiety and depression. if you have a hormone imbalance treating that imbalance may very likely resolve your attacks and anxiety
