Default Starting to totally shut down ,cant function

I have been waiting on test results from an echocardiogram for 7 days now.
Last week my regular and NEW MD ordered several heart test to screen me for heart disease,I passed first test which was them injecting a radioactive chemical into viens and then taking pictures (32 +) after me walking on treadmill , I have a very bad anxiety panic disorder, so I am freaking out bad,I cant eat sleep or anything and its getting worse, waiting on this last test to comeback, the nurse tells me it could be another WEEK ,that they send the test to a cardiologist to review it ,is it wrong for me to ask my doctors office to what cardiologist? I suppose I am so concerned because the stress test came back so quickly and okay, I am worried about the other. My anxiety and fear has overwhelmed me. I welcome any feedback or simular experiences with doctors, test results ect..

If you don't mind may I ask if there was a particular preexisting condition that was the reason for all the tests?

I get anxious too and always have the urge to call the docs. In fact I had a cancer screen done and their policy is always, we will call if there is any news to be concerned about, if you don't hear from us then everything is fine. It has been two months and I still want to call. Logically I know everything had to have been fine but I still need to hear just for the comfort. The confirmation.

I don't think it is wrong to ask what cardiologist but if you are calling them frequently then they most likely aren't going to tell you. On the off chance that they do maybe you can call and see if they have been looked at yet.

I know that anxiety can make it hard just to get through the days but are there things that you can do that will keep you busy where you have to use your brain a lot. Time flies if you are busy. A busy mind tends to stay distracted from the worry and stress. Do you take medication or have a therapist? Maybe bump up the amount of visits to your therapist if you can.

I am sure your test will come out fine, I know the medical community often tries the best they can with what they have especially if they are backlogged. Hopefully tomorrow you will get some good news.

Thank You sooo much for replying, however doctors office called today and said all test are ok normal, unfortunatly my MIND wants me to see the records and double check everything! It will take a few days to sink in that I am okay. They tested me because I have High Bp,smoke and had a "slightly abnormal ekg".It has been a heck of a week,as I have and extremely bad anxiety problem.Hopefully it will sink in that I am okay for now and I can breath again for awhile, or until the next episode! Thanks again

I am so glad to hear that everything came out well. Now you need to let yourself relax. The more you stress the harder you are on your health but I bet you know that lol.

Do something you love and take care of yourself.
