Default And Now Turkey!!

Another awful killing quake in Turkey. My prayers go out for them.

Is this unusual or does this happen a lot and We're just hearing about it more?

With 2012 approaching, it's getting curiouser and curiouser..

It's disturbing to hear of all this tragedy. Could they all be connected somehow.....I mean, could one quake set off another? I don't even know how close these regions are to one another. Somebody told me that Atlanta sits on top of a huge faultline. I wonder if that's true or if they were just giving me something else to worry about?

I truly feel that the Earth is in turmoil, just as it's human inhabitants...my SIL said he heard that the sun and moon are doing something (something about them both being up in the same horizon at the same time or something) and that this affects the deep layers of crust, increasing seizmic activity. Makes sense.
I am one of those people who believe that there have been at least 6 pole shifts over the Earth's lifetime. Remember the wooly mammoths found under the ice in Siberia with undigested flowers usually found in areas like Isreal? Theories abound that the Earth shifted on it's poles, changing weather patterns in the blink of an eye...the mammoths were theorized to have frozen to death quickly in an area that had previously been warm.
We can only control our little sphere of life, and as we with MS know, the idea of control is only an illusion. We can either fret our lives away worrying about things totally out of our control, or we can use each day to connect with the other little humans on the planet...I wasted so much time worrying about catastrophies that are out of my control...now I just try to make sure that I say one nice thing to someone, or I make eye contact with someone in a wheelchair...something that pays it forward, if you will.
Living on this planet is a crapshoot...just make the best of it, and thank the powers that be at the end of the day for the opportunity to live and breathe...
okay, off the soapbox now...

That is so sad. I'll keep them in my prayers.

I really think the El Nino has a lot to do with this. In fact, I read an article about that a few months ago. BTW - A lot of diseases epidemics cycle with El Nino as well; Dengue Fever, malaria, etc.

As for 2012, who knows. Researchers came up with the begin date of the Mayan calendar which could alter the end date. I read somewhere that the date has actually passed based on other scientific/mathematical calculations.

This is totally OT....but when Tricia mentioned El Nino it made me think of it.

My son pulled over a driver the other day he suspected of drunk driving. This was at 8 AM.....anyway, the man was obviously intoxicated but had enough sense to try and explain his way out of it by blaming El Nino on his drunken condition!! My DS said he had to turn around to keep the man from seeing him laugh!
