Default artificial gel nail manicure

Hi everybody,

I'm considering getting gel nails done before vacation. My nails are short, weak and ho hum looking.

Many of the girls at work get them done and they look great. Any pros or cons or tips before I get it done?

I've never had gel nails but I have had acrylic. Never again.

I did this while I was working so the cost was not such an issue. But you have to go back for fill-ins and touchups regularly. Not going is not an option.....unless you don't care how your hands look.

After I had the acrylic nails taken off it took a good 6 months for my real nails to even look decent. Nevermind the damage that the fake nails did to them.

Ever since I've been taking LDN my hair and nails grow like crazy.

Gel nails might be different but I believe with all types of artificial nails you have to go back for touchups regularly. It can get to be expensive.

If you do decide to get them post a picture so we can see how pretty they look!

If I get them done it will only be for a couple of weeks and then I'll remove them. From what I read, gel nails stay on better than the others. It would be nice to keep them all the time but I know I won't want to spend the money to keep having them redone.

I've had gel nails, Wiz. I loved them. I used to get acrylic but then discovered gel and liked them much more. Go somewhere with a good reputation. Cheaper is definitely not better when it comes to nail salons.

I have my natural nails now. I think you'll like them. The polish stays on forever or you can get the french style where they use a white gel powder for the tips. Don't get the white tip where they use an actual white nail tip. Make sure they use the white powder if that's what you decide on.

Have a great vacation !

How often did you have to have them filled in, Joelle?

Ok, I changed my mind, it's $36 to have them done, then $10 to have them removed. I'll put on nail polish before the trip, lol.

Wiz....I saw a piece on Good morning america, some women got sick
from a gel manicure. They had some good tips on what to look for so
you know you are getting the real deal. You should check out their
web site. Good luck, I bet they will look spectacular.
