Question Where do you find nice mature looking dresses?

Helping my mother find a dress for grand daughters wedding.
Nothing fancy but not plain...just a nice dress that works for church and other special occasions.

Most of the styles in the local department stores are so slinky and trendy that they just don't look good on a mature lady. {75}

She's petite framed but has the puffy tummy stuff- runs in the family..
semi apple body type

prefers a fabric with some body but not stiff and not the slinky stuff.

So much in stores is blacks and browns now, she looks best in blues, greens, plums, teals and some reds.

If you know of a good site for classic dress styles please let me know.

We actually have stores here that cater for the mature woman. Some are rather expensive of course, but other's are not, infact we even have a chain store that specialises in clothes for the older lady.

How about Dress Barn if you have one? I had the same problem, too young, too old. They helped me big! And they have a great selection.

I love Dress Barn...I never leave there empty handed. We have one in an outlet Mall near us...has a "fat" side and a "thin" side.

Well we actually finally found a nice looking & fitting one at the Nordstrom Rack.
Just one of them and it was in my moms size - so it was meant to be.
Looks very nice on her too.

Do you have a Coldwater Creek in your area? They have all styles and they're very well made. Here's a link to their website..... www.coldwatercreek.com

You can never go wrong with a plain sheath. Very classic and can be dressed up with accessories. Old Pueblo traders caters to "mature" women (although, I know may "mature" women who aren't mature.). This one is very stylish and classic and can be worn to many functions.

We have a CC nearby and also Christopher & Banks- next to each other.

The styles/colors of the ones we liked just didn't fit mom right in the mid section, we needed something that skims that area

The Old Pueblo site has some nice looking styles - I'll remember it for next time. no other weddings on the horizon after this one LOL.
