Post Dying Man's Family Appeal

DYING MAN'S FAMILY APPEAL

09:00 - 07 February 2008

The Family of a man with a terminal disease are appealing for help to pay for a controversial treatment in China.

Alan Scott, 41, from Mansfield, has an aggressive form of motor neurone disease, a debilitating nerve condition, and has a life expectancy of two to five years. He wants to go to China for experimental stem cell surgery in the hope of prolonging his life.

The treatmentis not approved for use in this country.

His aunt Sharon Jarvis said: "We are trying to raise money, reach businesses and above all raise awareness.

"He [Alan] was only 40 when diagnosed in May of last year and is devastated.

"We need to raise money, get ideas for sponsoring and need the public of Nottingham behind us. We need to move quickly on this as he does not have the time to wait."

Anyone who would like to help should contact Sharon on 07866 445 858 or e-mail smjarvis2003@yahoo.co.uk
