Default I need your input on this!!!

Okay, I need your input on this one. Alan asked me what I wanted for my anniversary. The answer was simple. A portable steam machine. But not some piece of junk that I paid $26.00 for on ebay a long time ago and it sputtered, and it didn’t keep steaming, and I threw it away.

But the concept is good.

Look at this one. They show a video of how it works. (This is how I learned all about the Shark Steam Mop before I bought one). This one is the Monster 1200

This one has 1200 watts of steam. The total, after tax and shipping and handling is $83.00

http://www.getmonster1200.com/Defaul...clusion&bhcp=1

Now here’s ANOTHER one by Euroflex that some guy is selling on Ebay for $59.00 plus 10 bucks shipping and handling.

This one is 1000 watts of power

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...MEWA:IT&ih=005

These are two different machines made by the same company.

I can’t seem to find any pros or cons on any websites. I always like to see reviews before I purchase anything.

So have any of you heard of these??. I want one that will keep steaming. At least with the Monster 1200 you get to see the video and hopefully, it does what it’s supposed to do.

But it’s more money than the other one. It’s also more wattage.

Opinions and comments are cheerfully requested.

OOOH! Melody, I always wanted one of those. If it was me, I wouldn't squabble over the few bucks and get the new one.

Happy Anniversary!

THEY ARE BOTH NEW.

In the ebay one (and he has several up), it is all new and sealed.

But I did a very smart thing.

I contacted one of the buyers on ebay who bought the $59.00 I wrote to her and asked her how she like her purchase and if it lived up to it's promises.

WELL, SHE WROTE ME BACK YESTERDAY AND SHE SAID:

"Well to be honest, I was very dissapointed. It arrived and it looked just fine, but well, it didn't live up to what it claimed to do"

So I immediately wrote back thanking her and saying "can you be a bit more specific, did it just sputter and not keep the steam".

I'm definitely not buying the $59.00 one.

When I saw the Monster 1200 and I saw the video on that website I said "this is the one I want".

But I don't want to buy ANYTHING until I find someone who has used it.

This is my goal.

I don't want to blindly throw out $83 for an item that loses steam after 5 minutes. That's what happened to my little Shark Steamer. I only paid $26.00 for it. But it didn't live up to what it claimed either.

I would never buy a used appliance anywhere. You never know..it might come with problems.

So these two items are brand new.
Only I now know I'm not getting the $59.00 one.

I want others to take a look at the Monster 1200 and give me their ideas.

Thanks so much

Melody

I may be a smart cooke but THIS COOKIE NEEDS INPUT!!!

I'm not buying any portable steam machine until someone tells me they've viewed the video on the MONSTER 1200 site and they believe what they see.

Me??? I don't believe ANYTHING I SEE. I like to test run products. That's why I do informercials on youtube.

To save other people from going out and wasting money.

Take for example the One Touch Can Opener. Saves my life, saves my hands, and works exactly the way it is supposed to.

And the Pedegg. This thing is a little slice of heaven.

And don't get me started on how wonderful my steam mop is. I've done a commercial on that one too.

Oh, I know what to do. I'm going to go to youtube and see if anyone did their own videos on portable steam machines.

Be back later.

Let us know what you find out! Couldn't you go to 'Costco or BJ's' and see if they sell them, then if you didn't like it you could return it. They're pretty good taking things back.

From what I read....you like to shop!

Unforunately we have no way to get to Costco's or BJ's.

Alan stopped driving 7 years ago and we do not own a car anymore.

I have no idea if Costco's sells any steam machine, but I can go to theri website.

What a great idea, thank you.

Oh, I went to youtube and they have LOADS of videos on steam machines but there is no video for the MONSTER 1200.

I see that this is going to be a journey.

Oh, don't buy a Tobi. I saw a vdeo on youtube (in french no less), and as soon as the guy plugged in the Tobi, it started to leak.

Wow, the stuff I learn on youtube is amazing.

I always look the item up on Amazon when I want reviews. If they sell it, you can get people's opinions there! I just bougt a steam mop, it's called SteamFast, on ebay. I'm happy with it. I wasn't looking for something high-end, I just wanted something to sterilize the floors for the baby now that he's crawling.

Melody - I always check websites o see if they sell something I'm looking to buy. Most of them have a review system too. That way, I can see what a few other people thought of it. Sure, they are strangers, and I can't ask them questions. But it does give you some idea if they liked it or not.

Amazon is the first place I look - they have just about everything and the site is a snap to navigate.

But on another note - if it were me, I'd ask for jewelry for the anniversary. Get the steamer because you need it, but jewelry is a nicer gift.

Melody,

I don't drive, but my hubby takes me where ever I need to go....I love going to 'Costco' and recently rejoined 'BJ's. I know that 'Costco's has a website. Not sure about 'BJ's.

Oh, and by the way I was reading your little blog about being on the 'Welcoming Committee' and saw your pictures. Very beautiful face, and it was great to read about your life and all the obstacles you have over come. Very nice to get to know you.
