The dog days of summer are here! HOT! ICK! I always wondered why they called these days the dog days and now at 59 am looking it up, LOL!

The brightest of the stars in Canis Major (the big dog) is Sirius, which also happens to be the brightest star in the night sky. In fact, it is so bright that the ancient Romans thought that the earth received heat from it. Look for it in the southern sky (viewed from northern latitudes) during January.

I wonder if you know that I came home to snowdrops and daffodils and jonquils in the garden? What a welcome sight they were. I do love the spring bulbs the best of all. They give promise of the Spring to come, and with it....new beginnings!

I wonder that my oldest broke her fibula (ankle) on Monday and yesterday I had to call doc office 4 times before they made an apt for her to get cast on..Then I had to rush cus the doc was about to close for day..but finaly at last she has a nice blue cast on her right foot. She made drum captian this year but that is not going to happen and no cross country running either. she is way sad as it is her senior year of high school. but there is a good side she will be able to focus more on studing and retake her s.a.t. test.
