Default Home from Hospital

I went to the hospital on Monday for bad headaches and I was dehydrated from not being able to keep anything down. I hadn’t slept for two days from the headache. They gave me fluids and my electrolytes were all out of balance. My heart was racing really fast and they said it was from being dehydrated. I was supposed to come home on Wednesday but I passed out while I was walking around the floor. My heart was racing really fast again. They did all these tests and said I have cardiac arrhythmia and it’s most likely from having the ECTs because the EKG they did before didn’t show anything.

They let me get out of there this morning and I have a cardiac holter on that I have to wear for 48 hrs and log my activities. The cardiac doc said he might put me on a beta blocker when he reads the machine. If the beta blockers don’t work I might need a pacemaker.

I don’t know who ever said you go into the hospital for a rest. I’ve been poked and prodded and being next to the nurse’s station I feel like I haven’t slept all week. I know my heart’s going to race now because I’m going to pick Hooper up as soon as my ride gets here. I bet her little heart will be racing as much as mine.

Welcome home and thanks for checking in and letting us know where you have been.

Take care of yourself and I hope the docs figure out how to keep you from having to go through all that again.

I bet Hooper will be happy to see you.

BJ!!! It is SO good to see you post. We worry about you here.

My goodness what you've been through! Dear sweetie, I know how frightening that is to have your heart race so badly. Not trying to hijack, just letting you know I sympathize because it is so scary. Happened to me when I was 27 and ended up in the hospital for over a month dying from my ulcerative colitis. Got down to 86 lbs and couldn't even hold water down. When they checked me in, they didn't think I would live through the night. Anyway, I was so dehydrated and so emaciated you could see my heart beating through my chest!!!!

I am so very sorry for the problems you've been going through with these treatments. I can only imagine it through your eyes and words. I guess that we can just pray the doctors know what they are doing. And, I don't know if it's right to suggest it here, but maybe there are groups of people on the internet who are going through what you've been through. Maybe reading their stories would help you understand, and you wouldn't feel alone in this battle with the treatments.

Oh, sweet Hooper. I wonder if you're at home with him now. He will be so very excited!

I am just so darned sorry for those headaches. UGH! They are debilitating. I hope they've given you something decent to help with those.

Much love to you sweetheart. Keep hanging on and jknow that you are very loved here!!!

Good to know that you're home BJ. Let's hope that your heart settles down by itself and you don't need that pacemaker after all.

Thanks for letting us know you're OK.

Hooper's home safe and sound. She seemed so sad when I picked her up but once she saw me her little tail started wagging. She's sleeping in her favorite spot right now. She seems just as tired as I am.

This is all so scary to me because both my mom and dad died of heart attacks. I felt my heart racing several times yesterday but I'm trying not to think about it. Tuesday I have to take this holter back and see the cardiac doc. I just hope it's something they can fix.

(((BJ))) I'm so glad you're home with Hooper. It's so hard not to worry with something like that going on. I'm positive they will figure it out and get it corrected. You have been through so much.
