Hey Nik-key... I hope you don't mind me taking this outa the wonder thread but I want to talk about it without wonderin' if you know what I mean....

Hey all... this was written by Nik-key-sis in the wonder thread....

I haven't said anything, as I am a the cup is half full kind of person.
But, I have been having some difficulties the past couple of months.
I also have a history the past 2 years of unexplained hematuria. I
have had some test recently and went to my doctor today for the
results and a complete physical. "things" were found. I need further
testing and have appts with specialist all lined up. I won't know any
more until after I see the specialist, (next week) they each order yet
more tests and biopsies. It will be a long waiting "game" I am thinking.

Okay, Nik, I suspect others might ask the same: what is hematuria ... and this is what I learned: "the presence of blood or blood cells in the urine"

And so, my new friend, I say to you.... let's fill that glass to the top ... I'm here to help you keep it full...

I find I couldn't sleep.... so I came to check on my friends...

I am sorry about that, I guess I have lived with the word hematuria
for so long I forget I too once had no idea what it was! Yes, that is
exactly right.. I have "gross hematuria" I have blood and cells in my
urine always- protein often.

I shouldn't have used the word unexplained, as a couple of years ago
they did run tests. I just didn't like their answers. Could be this, could
be that... lets keep an eye on it. I also have a history of Kidney issues...
stones, infections and swelling.

When these latest problems occured, it dawned on my doctors that there
could be another reason for the hematuria. It is then they started testing
for uterine and cervical complications. This is when they found "things" ..
I will continue to say things, as I just can't allow myself to be swept
away in fear ……over something that could be nothing!

Now, I wait to see what it is and what can be done.

Oh do I understand that reasoning and it really DOES help. It's not like "denial" where you don't face something, but it's keeping things at bay until you can grasp and understand them fully if they come to be reality.

When my family doc said he wanted to do a brain MRI on me and that I shouldn't panic, I said "so you're thinking MS? and why would I panic? It is what it is." And it was what it was. At that point, I couldn't change it. But it just FEELS better to know for sure what it is even if you can't change it.

I researched the word and it is blood in urine if I am not mistaken ..and just as you said my angel friend there were many reason listed.. like it could be from medication and could be this or that. I decided to just think positive things and positive things only.

and now I too will add to your cup
I add a half a cup of healing and another half a cup a mix of love strength courage and positive thoughts and wishes with a dash of God's Miracles .
I am glad you shared Nikki. I am learing now myself how much sharing no matter how hard ..how much it helps and how many truely wonderful kind caring people will suround you and be with you listen support and understand from that alone strength and courage grows and warms the soul.

Thank you ADDY for starting this thread for my angel friend warrior! I wish i had but just in a dark place right now not thinking right. and I love how one of us seemes to pick up and lead when another is down and out. we are a true family indeed. Thanks Addy

(((Nik))) I'm thinking this will be one of the less serious reasons for hematuria! And they will find out what and get it fixed. You're too precious for anything else to happen. Prayers prayers prayers for you!

And did you know you floored me yet again? I read what you said about your red hair. My sister ALSO had red hair. HMMMMMMM! MMMMkay! You look so like her and are so lovely just as she was. Just makes me love you all the more.
