Becki,

If might be better if you could get a Free T3 done versus a T3 uptake. Free T3 will give you an indication of how your body is converting the T4 to the active T3. Sometimes doctors don't do this test if your TSH, and Free T4 are in range.

Hope this helps,

Marilyn

Thanks! I remember that now. I don't have the gland anymore, near total thyroidectomy done in 2000, I only have 3 parathyroids left so they usually only run the TSH but you're right on the free T3. Mom said sometimes they'll do a T7 that includes both the free T3 & 4.

I have my complete list done now although some may not need to be done but it's better to ask than forget:

AGA anti-gliadin – celiac
AGG anti-gliadin - celiac
ANA antinuclear antibody – auto-immune diseases
ARA anti-reticulin – celiac, Dermatitis Herpetiformis (DH)
Aldolase (previously abnormal) – glucose, energy
Calcium (previously abnormal) – parathyroid, bones
Carnitine (previously abnormal) – energy, heart, skeletal, muscles
CBC complete blood count
CMP comprehensive metabolic panel
CRP C-Reactive Protein – inflammation
D-xylose test - digestive
EMA anti-endomysial (IgA) – celiac, Dermatitis Herpetiformis (DH)
ESR erythrocyte sed rate - inflammation
Ferritin (Iron) (previously abnormal) - anemia
H Pylori helicobacter pylori - degistive
Hb Haemoglobin - Anemia
HLA A, B, C, DR, DQ (2+ already found), DP (I also have other auto-immune diseases, really focusing on B, DR, DQ & DP)
IgA – immune, digestive
IgD – immune, allergies
IgE – immune, allergies
IgG – immune, bacterial
IgM – immune, blood infections
Lactose Tolerance Test
Magnesium (previously abnormal) – muscle, nerves
