Smile h-pylori, effective treatment with tumeric and promoting Neurotalk at MJ Fox roundtab

hi, folks. Well, two rounds of heavy-duty antibiotics didn't cure my h-pylori, evidenced by stool sample lab results, but a few weeks taking turmeric capsules finally resulted in a lab result of no more h-pylori! Reverett recommended, and sent me research results on use of botanicals, proving that turmeric kills the bacteria, and lo and behold! It worked. My stomach still has burning, so I may need to keep healing it with probiotics and prevacid, but my prolonged "off" periods are greatly reduced (but not altogether gone), most likely because h-pylori isn't messing with my levadopa absorption to the degree that it was.

Next: At a Michael J Fox research roundtable yesterday, (a group of highly educated PWP's and researchers, along with TeamFox fundraisers,) I raised, (during Q&A) the whole h-pylori /PD connection topic, and use of turmeric. Someone instantly corroborated my story, saying he was in touch with researchers in Ca. who had studied h-pylori as impacting on increased off-periods for PWP'S. Alot of people came up to me to discuss afterwards. I also promoted Neurotalk and lots of people looked very intrigued. Someone else stood up during Q&A and pointed out the importance of patients turning to fellow patients for treatment ideas and info. as we are an incredibly informed source of information. When I applauded him, many enthusiastically joined in.
Energy and hopes were high following Obama election. I think his election was as good a treatment tonic as any I've ever experienced! Leonore

Default A big welcome to any new lurkers

We know how hard it is to post that first message, but the second is much easier, and after the third one just can't shut up (speaking from my own experience, of course )

But seriously, this is an invaluable resource for both patient and researcher. And we have a number of PWP with solid science backgrounds and a little medical, too.

Glad to hear of your positive results Leonore.
