Default Just a vent!

Let me tell you what a day it has been.

First DH needed to add air to my tire and change a light bulb on my van (aka the bus). Pretty simple, right? I go to move the van closer to the garage so the air hose will reach and it wouldn't start! We just replaced the battery. So my DH goes to check the battery and see what's what and guess what we found? A little nest made by the little field mice that live in our wood pile. We are surrounded by woods so there are tons of these little guys. I said, hey I bet they chewed a wire. Sure enough the little buggers chewed through my wire harness!!!!! My DH is hoping he can just patch the wires so we won't have a huge car bill by taking it to the repair shop. I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Second we had our septic pumped (gross, yuck, ewwwww). The guy is giving me the paperwork and says hey, your leach field is having problems. I ask how much to repair or do whatever to fix the problem. He says it starts at $6,000 and goes up!!!!

We are in the process of getting water to our house since our well has arsenic in it and are already looking at a $11,000 bill. I don't need this right now.

Then I wonder why I feel like crap. Could it possibly be the stress????

Thanks for listening to my rant!

Wow, Karousel, with those kinds of bills I'd be stressed, too! I sure hope your DH can patch the wires so you can have your van again. Critters can be so destructive.....even when they're tiny! I hope you get everything straightened out. Bills can produce the worst stress of all!

It is those unexpected big expenses that are so stressful. You have my sympathy.

We held onto our tax refund last year. It got eaten away from those unexpected expenses. Just when I was thinking that I would spend the last of it on a home improvement, wham! Not a chance.

I do not know how much we will get back this year but I am not going to splurge on so much as a vase!

I never know what emergency will come up next.

again, you have my sympathy AND empathy.

i don't know anything about those things. i'm glad your dh does.
i hope this resolves and you can get past the stress, and the bill. yuck.

Aww K, that's terrible. I wish I could give you some great advice, but I am thinking of ya and hope things aren't as $$$$ as they look to be.

Take care and you just come and vent whenever you feel like it; with all that, I'd be screaming....

K, I hear you on the mousey expense...The same happened to me.. Very costly. Then the little @#$% crawled into the motherboard of my stairlift and I had to replace that.. Another very costly item.

I found out, later, that they were living comfortably in my attached garage. they're gone now and I have taken measures to keep them gone.....I hope!!

Sorry about all your other unexpected expenses....that sucks.

So my DH was able to repair the wires but who knows how long it will hold. He also put some moth balls in a plastic bag with holes and attached it to the battery so the mice will stay away. Lovely, I hope when I run the heat or AC that I smell moth balls. I love rodents but these guys are really making me mad!

Thank you so much for all your kind words and support! I knew venting here would help me not only get it out but I knew there'd by people who will listen.
