World Parkinson Congress 2010 News

Support from Patient Organizations Helps Launch the WPC 2010
The WPC thanks the supporters who contributed the seed money to launch the 2nd World Parkinson Congress | WPC 2010. Without the early support from these organizations, the WPC 2010 would not be possible. Please join us in thanking them.

Travel Grants for Junior Researchers and Health Professionals
The WPC thanks the Melvin Yahr International Parkinson's Disease Foundation and the Edmond J. Safra Foundation for grant monies that will be directed to:
1) junior researchers who have abstracts accepted for poster display
2) health professionals from developing countries

There are currently 92 Organizational Partners (OPs) from 27 countries working with the WPC. OPs represent the broad PD community including groups dedicated to clinicians, patients, allied health professionals, researchers and beyond. Help Find Funding for People with PD attend the WPC 2010!
The WPC is actively looking for funding to offer financial assistance to people with PD and their caregivers to attend the WPC 2010. If you would like to help the WPC raise funds for this purpose or you are aware of possible funding sources, please write to: info@worldpdcongress.org.

WPC 2010 Launches Facebook Fan Page
Sign-up on Facebook.com today to stay connected to others who are interested in the WPC 2010. Videos from the WPC 2006 Opening Ceremony can be viewed on the fan page and visitors can upload photos or video clips from the first Congress to share with others. Sign-up today!

WPC to host booth at the American Academy of Neurology in April in Seattle, Washington, USA
Delegates at the AAN meeting in Seattle should stop by the WPC booth #2211. WPC promotional material will be available for you to take home to your clinics, hospitals, and support groups.
