Default Requip XL or Neupro Patch

Hello,

My 62 year old mother was diagnosed with PD last year and now lives with me. She is on Requip XL, and I wondered how this compares to the Neupro Patch. I know Neupro was recalled, but assuming it is available again soon,

What are the pros/cons of Neupro vs Requip XL?

Thanks for your advice,
John

The Neupro Patch didn't work for everyone - neither my Doctor nor I felt it did anything for me. So your mother might run into that problem. Frankly, the higher the dose of neupro - the larger the patch. I had trouble relocating it on my person so it wasn't on the same patch of skin in a two week period. But having said that, I know that neupro worked well for many people.

I'm taking requip xl and it works fine for me.

Default My Neuro told me ...

that the absorption of a drug via a patch is nowhere near as efficient as a drug taken orally and hence in his opinion, the patch is second best.
