Default Do I have Chiari Malformation?

Hello all,

I am new to this forum, could anyone please view my MRI and give me indication if you think I have Chiari Malformation? I have been suffering for years with what I believe to be symptoms of this condition.

Four years ago, I was hospitalize because doctors thought I have Guillian Barre, a year later it was thought I had MS (thankfully I do not) but more recently I have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue.

I am currently awaiting a Radiologist to review my MRI (taken 4 years ago).

Any advice would be great.

Thanks JoJo

Hi JoJo
I had to remove your MRI scan as you had left your personal info on it

You are welcome to upload it again but cover up your personal info for your own privacy sake

Hi, I am sorry to hear you are having problems I know how frustrating, painful and overwhelming it can be. Have you been checked for EDS (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome) which is seen in combo with Chiari? Also CCI (cranio-cervical instability) due to EDS can cause a lot of neurological symptoms like chiari and headaches when it is the instability causing the issues. Unfortunately some doctors don't know this and end up doing surgery and the patient isn't any better or worse because the didn't know this. Also have you been check for TC (tethered cord) or Syringomyelia? Also POTS (postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome) can be issues with both the Chiari and EDS. Also if you do have EDS it is important to know and find out before surgery because they do it a little differently for EDSers. Another thing they have discovered is EDSers are 10-11 times more likely than the normal population to develop MS later because of the genetic collagen deficiency it allows the White Blood Cells to cross over the blood brain barrier causing the demylenation associated with MS unfortunately. Please feel free to ask me anything I will try my best to help.
