Default low pressure headache....

Hi, Im posting for my 20 yr old daughter Helen who has cm/sm and had decompression surgery in Oct 2004. Helen developed a large psedomeningocele after surgery, and it was left alone as her neuro surgeon said it was meant to be there!

Anyway, I think there are varying views on this, but she has now been suffering for the past two months with very bad headaches, only helped by laying down, which is what she is now doing most of the time! I've taken her into hospital and after them initially being adamant they are tension headaches, they are now saying they may be low pressure headaches.

I cannot find anyone who will help her, and I think they may be due to the pseudomeningocele and a possible csf leak, maybe a slow one? They have done an mri scan and are happy with it, so are not planning any further surgery, but Helen still has the awful daily headaches which are affecting her life.

The docs have said they are going to give her caffenated drinks for the next few days to see if that helps the head pain, as her blood sugar level is a bit low!

Does anyone have any ideas on this? Im considering a second opinion for her.

Default Your daughter Helen

Have you found help for your daughter yet? Where do you live? What City/State?

A pseudo is NOT meant to be anywhere. It should have been repaired unless there was a reason it couldn't be repaired. You need a second opinion.

Please let me know if she has gotten some help since this post was put up.
