Default Finding a neurosurgeon

My husband was just diagnosed with SM and we are waiting for a cervical MRI to rule out/confirm CM as well. He was diagnosed by a doctor at the Spine Center in Omaha. They referred us to a local neurosurgeon for after we get that cervical MRI done. However, neither one of us is comfortable with the neurosurgeon we were recommended. DH saw him for a consult in January, when the only information available was a lumbar MRI (his SM is from t2-t11) that showed a spinal lipoma at l2-l3. The doctor told my husband his pain (numbness and tingling/burning that is severe in the upper thigh area) was probably muscular and to try physical therapy.

Does anyone know of any neurosurgeons in the Omaha area that have experience with SM/CM? Or in Iowa? We have cheap transportation available to Des Moines and Iowa City, and have family in Sioux City, so any of those places (or close to them) would be great.
