In my experience, my headaches never went away no matter what position I was in.

The only way you're going to know if you have Chiari is to get an MRI.

My PCP sent me for a "just in case" MRI when nothing we were doing was helping my migraines and other issues. She was doubtful that anything would show up and wouldn't you know I have Chiari.

Fortunately for me I have access to an amazing NS and residents. I was in and under the knife within 3 weeks of finding out my diagnosis.

Granted I'm having issues now, but I think it was my fault. I started doing too much too soon, but the surgery did help a LOT. My headaches, while back, are not nearly as bad as they were.

If you are having issues with your head I'd go see a neurologist. Get an MRI or CT Scan and go from there.

Good luck.

Default Cerebellar tonsillar ectopia

I had MRI done and found I have a few issues
With my neck like a pinched nerve and small disc probs and
Arthritis starting. And at the end of the paper work it says cerebellar tonsillar
Ectopia. There is no measment at all and I have no headaches at all I don't even have ALOT of pain. A bit of off balanca and ringing in the ears. I'm waiting for a specialist appt. I'm not even sure I have this. I'm really scaring myself
Here. Not sure what I'm asking for but would it say we found she has cerebellar
Tonsillar ectopia and the measurement. Help!!

Hi... best of luck to you with your symptoms, I was not clear if you had had a decompression surgery or not. I am new to the form...

Not sure what it would say personally mine said " chiari 1 malformation " second MRI report said 7mm chiari malformation so I suppose it depends on who writes the report.

If you need clarity I would advise contacting the person that wrote it asking for clarification.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful
