Default Dear Ihoover

I am a missouri girl. Lived there for 27 years in Columbia. Mayo clinic out of Rochester, referred me to that clinic. I participated in a trial study there.
Columbia University med. center on 1 hospital drive, has a great reputation, as it is a teaching institute. Also Barns hosptial in St. Louis has a good reputation. My daughter went to the childrens hospital there for neruological problems after birth. Both these facilities, were extrememly good. I am glad you have a DX too. Now maybe you can go on, and find someone to help. I do care and wish you all the best. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. ginnie

Thank you for getting back to me...I will check into the Med Center at Columbia...I did call one clinic in St Louis that said he was suppose to be a specialist in Chiari but when I asked they said that all their doctors were familiar with it but didn't specialize in it...I don't feel like that is what I need at this point...Any Nuero dr should be familiar with Chiari! I want someone who KNOWS what they are talking about! But I will check with Barnes and see who they have on staff there...
Thanks again...

Default Hi Ihoover

Both facilities, have complete listings of their staff available. Research every one you may have an interst in. Also they list their areas of expertise. MU also has a medical research library, they will open to the public once you have your doctor, if you should wind up with that faility. It is normally for students, but patients allowed in. I wish you all the best. ginnie

Default Chiari Specialist in Midwest

Did you ever find a Chiari Specialist in the Midwest? I was just currently diagnosed with Chiari, and I'm looking for a specialist as well. I have a neurosurgeon in Springfield, MO, but i want someone who specializes in Chiari.

Default Mid west doctors

Try Columbia University medical center, 1 hospital drive in Columbia, Mo. This is a top notch teaching facility. I took treatments there for 9 years. I do believe you can find a specialist there in any branch of medicine. I wish you all the best. Ginnie

I know this is a really late reply, but I also see neurologist/surgeon in Springfield & I feel at such a loss. I'm always in such pain & was wondering if you have had any luck with finding anyone new?
