The hand specialist I saw today told me to start taking Clucosamine, but to divide the dose into a couple times a day to 'spread out' the effect of it. He said to not bother with the Glucosamine w/condroitin.

I've had it really bad lately in the joint of my thumb and it has caused numbness and tingling all the way up my thumb and going into my index finger. This stuff sure can be painful. I never know from day to day how bad it will be or if it will be nice and quiet. It really started hitting me in jst this last year.

Also have it in my cervical spine. Tons of accidents with resultant whiplash has done quite a bit of damage to that part of my spine. Well, the whole thing, but bad in my neck.

Have the arthritis in a lot of places, but the worst in my hands at this time.

Now I wonder if the extreme fatigue I've been having is partially due to this. I didn't know arthritis could cause such extreme fatigue. But then, I also have fibro, so who knows!

It's difficult for me to take nsaids for the discomfort as they play havoc on my ulcerative colitis disease.

Anyway, that's what the specialist told me. That Glucosamine is very beneficial.

Oh, and something strange he said to me that I didn't question. He said you can find glucosamine over the counter at many places (which I know) but then he said, "DON'T buy that kind of thing from any dollar stores." Whatever that meant!
