Question New to ADHD- Need Help.

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and medicated for it for the last ten years. I've been in personal therapy constantly as well, but I have only gotten worse. I developed extreme anxiety and panic attacks and a very difficult case of pessimism and self-hate. Recently, I was re-evaluated and diagnosed with ADHD instead. I began medication and am seeing a therapist, but I am not functional. I can't work, my marriage is under a lot of stress, I have few options financially, and I've developed enough anxiety to fear leaving the house or talking on the phone, and sometimes I won't even leave our bedroom. I feel hopeless and helpless to improve my situation or my outlook on myself or my life.
Help?

Smile Hello!

Welcome to NT!

I'm so sorry for what you are going through. I noticed you had posted over on the General Mental Health forum and had no replies. Unfortunately that forum hasn't been very active lately.
I just wanted you to know that there are many caring people here who understand what you are going thru.
Perhaps jump on over to the Bipolar forum, since this is what you've battled for so long. It is very active and the people there are very down-to-earth and caring. I'm sure if you mention these other symptoms, they will have some great feedback to share.
Please come check it out!

I am sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time right now. Maybe you could try getting some sort of medicine for the anxiety? It seems like that may be causing most of your situation.
