Confused Advice and/or suggestions?

Hello.

Let me start off by saying I have not had an official diagnosis because I have not had the money to see a psychologist/psychiatrist. My insurance doesn't cover anything until I've paid at least 1 grand myself, and then they'll pay like, a measly 20%.

So that being said, if anyone knows of any affordable help I can get that's legit and professional, I live in Akron Ohio, please toss it at me.

Now, my main concern is that I'm going to be taking online classes to earn my Bachelors in psychology and when that's complete, I'll be going for my masters.

I'm already aware that this is going to be extremely difficult with ADHD, but it's seriously what I really want to do.

I don't procrastinate on things, I actually start tasks right away because I want them done. My problem is the constant distraction/loss of focus and attention on the task while trying to complete it. And when it comes to math, if it's just not clicking then it overly frustrates me and I'll temporarily abandon it to come back to it later after I've cooled off. These are going to hinder me in getting things done quickly and efficiently.

I guess what I'm asking is, if there's a way to work around my ADHD symptoms with some sort of magical coping techniques (lol?) or if I need to just bite the bullet, pay the expenses to see a psychiatrist and get prescribed medication.

Part of me is terrified because I'm going to be accumulating student debt and it's only worth it if I successfully graduate and I'm scared that no matter how hard I try, I just wont be able to do it.

Online therapy is a cheaper alternative. As a family, we do online group counseling (together with my husband who is an adult ADHD and kids - one of them with ASD/ADHD) Good luck to you!
