Default ADHD and Cardiac Issues

My adult son has ADHD and due to cardiac health issues (congestive heart failure and takes Entresto) cannot be prescribed Adderall. He has been on non stimulant therapy, but believes when he was taking Adderall (prescribed probably without full knowledge of his heart issues) he felt the most "in control" of his brain. He has been to therapists who I believe discuss behavioral therapy, however, it hasn't worked. What do people do in these situations when you have ADHD and heart issues? Any ideas or successful experience would be very much appreciated!
