Thanks Barb
It has taken 11 long years to get someone to listen. It has taken him writing letters telling how he is going to kill people and animals and telling me he is going to kill his brother and his constant rages for someone to say "I think this is more than just ADHD".. :Bang-Head:

He is talking about putting him on Lamictal tho I talked to the pharmacist today and she said that with that med you have to take it the same day every day and same time.. Adam is NOT good at even taking his Adderall XR. She said if you miss any doses you risk getting the lamictal rash and if you miss more you risk more side effects, if you miss 5 days you have to start all over.

The pharmacist said Depacokat might be a better choice. So I will bring that up to the psychiatrist when we see him on the 15th.

On the 15th we will deal also with the depression/bipolar issue also.

I miss seeing your posts Barb. I love your little moose. :D

I am so glad you finally got that diagnosis! I know it had to be frustrating to be stuck with only your gut instincts telling you "This is autism, why won't they believe me?" and the professionals telling you things were fine. This kind of a tragedy really shakes up the country, it's so sad because like it's been said, the child probably had no idea that if he did what he did that the result would be what happened. Now he has to live with that and feel guilty all his life long. :( And that boy's family now lost their precious son.

Like has been said, I think that it's a terrible tragedy but it could have been averted had the school had metal detectors and a policy of making the students walk through it. That shouldn't just be for high schools, elm & middle schools both should have that kind of policy in place too. :(

Good luck Gina Marie, I am glad you got the DX, that is a big part of the battle to treat AS/HF. Keep us posted on how it goes. :)
