JungleButt!!!

Hey woo hoo and congrats on shedding the pounds. Moreso, congrats on starting RDI!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to hear what you think of it, how you like it...honestly, the more you learn, the more you think "that's so simple, why didn't I think of that". The theory is totally common sense, the application is where I get hung up, but the foundation I totally get.

Nice to see you!

I was actually going to email you to let you know about enrolling Aaron in RDI on the day Lizard sent me the link for this place.

How is Vince responding to RDI?

You'll always be OvarianAroma to me :D :D :D Baawawaa

Next month our consultant will be coming here for a day to sort of help me get more into the hang of RDI. I still feel as positively as ever about it, and the theory I get completely - yet - I just am struggling with the application. It seems to all be common sense when you begin to learn about it, but the more you learn, the more you realize you need to learn, it's hard to explain. I can say that Vince is most definately doing better with RDI, but the RDI I have been doing with him has more than anything just been my newfound awareness of the 'wiring' behind the behaviors, and, that awareness makes me respond in a way better for him (and me!). Also, the activity I have most been doing with him has not even been the games/exercises but it has simply been me speaking to him with 'guidance' rather than 'instruction'. Your consultant can better explain that, but basically as I understand it, you don't say (for instance) "hey, knock it off!" instead you say, "hey, how about if we do this instead" - so basically I talk to him like he was my bosses kid instead of my kid.

He is getting better at being flexible for sure! His confidence is better - oh this is a good one. Remind me that if Vince becomes a Rapper, to never be in the audience.....here's what happened, some kid at school got mad cause Vince would not hand over his tree branches that he likes to carry around and watch blow. So, the kid got ****** and said, "oh yeah, fine, well your mom is ugly and fat" and instead of getting angry, Vince did something amazing....he did not get angry...he was not baited...and he even stuck up for me:

Vince: Oh yeah, well my mom IS ugly and fat, but I love her anyway!

Wow, thanks Vince....gotta go, I have to go develop belemia now, lol!

OMGOSH!! THAT IS SO UTTERLY PREIOUS!!! LOLOL!!! Good for him!!!

Im really hoping to see big strides with Aaron. I absolutely HATE being in the dark with what the school does each day. If I know what they are doing, I can flippin CONTINUE it at home!

When I went to see the RDI lady, Aaron saw me and wanted me really bad. So I held him for a little while.

There were 3 women in Aaron's class. I have ABSOLUTELY NO FRACKING CLUE which one was the teacher. She never even said hello to me. Never introduced herself, etc. His teacher from last year moved away :(

Im not inpressed.

We have an IEP soon and I have plenty of things to change. They werent going to give him an IEP till January! I said UH NO! Not gonna happen!! Its the beginning of the school year with a new teacher, he's not waiting till a year after he started last year!!

Im going to demand a buddy book this year. The teacher last year kind of talked me out of it because "There's so much to do and I cant get one filled out for every kid"

Whatever-- once a week is fine with me! And the class only goes from 9:30-12:15... its not like there isnt any time after that to shoot me an email... Seriously, some of the stuff with schools is only to better suit the teachers and not the kids/parents.

But his RDI consultant works with Robert and me and the school.

She has the 5 hour long dvds that she's going to have us watch too.

Anyhoo-- lots to do around here-- Im really glad Vince is thriving with RDI!!
