Cool Things are going good so far with Jackie

He is almost completely off the topamax and so far no seizures and he doesn't seem to be any more ravenous then usual. We're moving June 1st and he knows it from how we've been packing things away. And I expect he is ready to move on since he's seen the new place. I can hardly wait to get in there.

I am worried about some things, small things like will we need a new curtian rod for the bathroom since there are two bathrooms, will I be able to keep it as clean as I like to? Things like that and cooking on gas, will it make me a better cook or worse? All things considered this is a huge step up for us so I am embracing it whole heartedly.

In case you don't go to the OBT autism forum anymore here are some pics of the new place:

And a link to the filled in floorplan:

I think though we're going to put the total gym in the living room to start with and see how it goes out there along with the cool bean bag chairs that will finally get used like they're supposed to and we'll be able to play with those with Jackie, just like we're going to be able to take him to the park all the time. This is the summer we all shape up I hope, because it's been so hard on us being cooped up in this little two bedroom place.

So much to look forward to! I just had to post an update here because this forum does get visitors and I wanted to update all my friends here. Hope you're having a great week!

g'day Pamster,
Cooking with gas can only make a person a better cook. I had hotplates (electrical) at the moment, but gas is my preference. Just takes a little getting used to in the beginning so you don't burn everything by having it on too long or too high. Gas is great!

So glad your son is doing well off the Topamax. You won't know yourself once you've moved. It'll be just wonderful. Place looks great too. Having the playground so close is going to be so much fun for Jackie. I check out your floorplans elsewhere. You should be able to get around just fine. Easiest way to clean is to have no clutter in places like bathrooms etc.. You'll find just by moving that you'll be able to get rid of some things and start off in the new house all tidy and uncluttered.

Would love to be able to sit on the porch and have a cuppa. It'll have to be a cyber-cupper.

It's all looking good!!!

I will have to get dh to take a pic of me out there on the porch with my pink mug full of coffee so I can post it. I think you're so right about the clutter, we'll be starting off fresh and it will be so awesome. Our behavior analyst just left after a great session and he is really impressed with how much progress Jackie is making. Both in his behavior and his speech.

I am so happy things are moving right along Lara. We've gotten rid of garbage cans FULL of stuff like old bills and other papers we have no use for anymore and it feels so freeing, I am glad we're moving.

I've moved a lot since my divorce many years ago. It's really been difficult the past couple of times though because of health reasons and the fact that Mum/Me always seems to be the only one to do anything, but one thing I just love about moving is that I get a chance to go through everything and give away what I don't use anymore. There's absolutely nothing like a good Feng Shui to change your life! It is freeing and it stops stagnation. lol

We are heaving a lot of stuff to the dump and going to get new things since most of the furniture has seen better days it's going and we'll get new stuff, so that old blue couch you can see in pics I've taken here is going to the dump because Jackie has broken the springs in it on both sides.

It might be next month before we have another couch because I want to find one that will work out nicely for us. But it will be worth it. Here is the most recent pic of us on it from yesterday morning:

We are quite a pair of Def Leppard fans aren't we? I thought it would make you smile to see the two of us in our rocker shirts.
