Default Vitamin D deficiency and autism
A recent study suggests that the children of pregnant women who are deficient in Vitamin D are more likely to have Autism Spectrum Disorder, compared to the children of pregnant women who are not deficient in Vitamin D.

The authors conclude that "The association between developmental vitamin D deficiency and autism-related traits may have important implications from a public health perspective. It is feasible that a safe, cheap and publicly accessible vitamin D supplement in at-risk groups may reduce the prevalence of this risk factor.".

Thank you for your insight Terry.

I am aware of the fact that Vitamin D is involved in many different physiological processes.

I am not sure about this.

My wife (a psychologist here) has worked with children on the autism disorder spectrum range and my sister in NZ has had such children referred to her.

Neither has found the theory in the link here of any use.
