Wink Things were black and white back then?

lol Im not sure if this is an "Autism"/PDD-NOS thing.. I THINK it is as none of my other boys thought like this or mentioned it or have I heard any other boy especially at Adam's age think like this.. but today we were outside talking. They had gotten wet with the hose and they were drying off (standing outside) and I was watering.. I had mentioned how when I was about thier age and we had gone swimming in the lake (across the street) and got out my grandma would have had us strip down to our underwear and hosed us down to get the mud off and fish smell..

lol Adam says.. "Were things black and white back then?" It took me a bit to think about what he was talking about... ROFL.. NO Im NOT that OLD. lol He was thinking back to my grandma's pictures that were black and white and THOUGHT that because the pictures were black and white that that was the way it looked in REAL LIFE. lol I just started laughing.. Thankfully he started laughing with me this time. A lot of times he would just get mad. He told me that he thought that maybe everything would just be gray and black and white in real life. lol I said No, that film didnt have color and that just pictures were black and white. lol

Now isnt that the literal thinking of aspies? I thought that was so cute and funny YET NOT normally thinking of someone who is going to be 12 in a few weeks.

I still laugh as I sit here thinking about it. lol I also wanted to post it here to give you all a laugh. Sometimes he can be funny.. tho a lot of times he is so frustrating and hard to deal with... We finally have him in sensory integration therapy and she is trying music therapy with him also tho he is so sweet and compliant with HER but as soon as we leave he blows up with me. He HATES the music and doesnt want to listen to it and fights me about listening to it but wont say anything to her. He is just smiles to her. Sometimes I think people think Im lying or making up stories about his behavior... arrrrrrrrrrrrrghhhhhhhhhhhhhh
