In my experience as a Special Ed. Teacher with a wide variety of students many liked Math because answers did not vary. 1 + 1 is always 2 but in Reading, especially essays, answers can vary. I had a student with Dyscalculia (spelling?)(like Dyslexia but with math). At 13 the concept of 1+1=2 was difficult. Teaching strategies and learning strategies had to be appropriate for the student.

I can't agree with you more...each student is different. And finding the best individual strategies is knowing your student...regardless of what learning disorder they have....Aspergers is just another way to learn to help the individual.
