I was diagnosed with Crohn's at a very young age, but now, I am 20 and it seems like my Crohn's has taken a backseat to my medications. I see many specialists who say I am too immunosuppressed due to Cimzia, but obviously my gastro has me on it for a reason. I've been doing Cimzia injections since 2009. In the past month, my eyes have been extremely inflamed, causing 2 eye infections. I had surgery for hidradenitis suppurativa. And over the past few months I have been experiencing a debilitating pain in my right arm/wrist. Some days I can't even use my arm. It's a pain I can't even describe, because most of my other pain has been in my insides. My late father had Crohn's and has a history with several blood clots. And my mother's side of the family has a lot of history with RA.
Has anyone else experienced crazy side effects due to the medication? What could this thing with my arm be? |

Hi
my son has Crohn's and tried a variety of medications, each with side effects far worse than his Crohn's symptoms!(also complicated by the fact that he has TS and so some of the meds for Crohn's - eg steroids- are triggers for TS) He has found the best way to manage his Crohn's is through very careful diet and supplements, as well as lifestyle changes that minimize stress as much as possible and keep his environment "pure" and free of allergenic and toxic substances.
