It might mean that your testosterone is too high.

The endocrine system works together, so if one is out of whack, the others won't be right, either. The good news is, once you start getting even one hormone level normal, the others will improve, too.

I've had problems with too much estrogen (not enough progesterone), and too much adrenaline/cortisol.

You might want to start on the thyroid, get that balanced as much as possbile (both T-4 and T-3), then get your progesterone and estrogen levels tested, etc. It takes months and has to be done slowly but it's O.K. because you are continually getting better. :) Good luck!

For what it's worth, I started menopause at age 50, just about the same time my Dr figured out I needed thyroid supplements. That was way early compared to my Mom and my Sis. One month everything just stopped, and the hot flashes kicked in. I've had hot flashes ever since. I've always had a sneaking suspicion that the low thyroid levels may have thrown me into early menopause.

Hi guys...well the plot thickens.

Just recently got a bunch of blood tests back and some very interesting stuff.

First off all of my sex hormones are beyond low. Both test confirmed. The weird thing is if some are low it makes sense but there are others that should not be and should be high if the others are low but they are all low. And some show I am beyond menopause but still getting my period like every 2 weeks when I am on the thryroid meds. And it more normalizes when I go off.

And get this my thryoid went from 6.04 down to a 1.29 and thats with me being on and off the thryoid meds of 0.05 from 3/20/07 to 5/03/07.

So one doc recommended a pituitary MRI just to check and the endo recommended I see my GYN just to check out some tother stuff

My b12 is better at a 789 but still needs some help. I know they will recommend some injections which I will consider

But the way intersting thing is...I have tested postive for and have very high levels of candida. And i have this all over skin irritation that just hurts and comes and goes. And I am beyond bloated in my mid section. The skin thing has been just freaking me out because it hurts and itches and is just uncomfortable. And forgive me for saying this but now that I think about it it sure does feel like a yeast infection all over my body. And inside my body too. It often feels like my nerves are just inflamed from top to bottom and no one can figure out why. I may invest in that book the yeast connection and try to read before my appts.

Well I see the gyn and the hormone doc next week. So we'll see.

Keep ya posted.

Thanks for the update. Would you believe, I just ran into that book about the yeast connection at a yard sale? I think I bought it, but brain fog has kicked in, and I can't remember if I got it, or only thought about getting it. I would loan it to you, if I bought it, and if you were here! :D
That being impossible, I wonder if you could check it out at your local library?
Would save having to buy it, unless of course, you find it at a yard sale, like I did (or may have done). You know, I'm not going to be easy in my mind until I look around the house and see if I bought the book or not! :D
Hugs

I noticed you posted the question about the book and candida on the celiac site. I'm going to be watching that to see if you get any replies there. We seem to have a lot in common, don't we?
Hugs,
