Default IVIG Treatments and CellCept

My husband, who has been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder will begin treatments next week - IVIG every three weeks and 2000 mg of Cellcept per day. Has anyone had any experience with this type of treatment/medicine?

NOt sure about the medicine part but for my immune disorder the immune globulin is the only known treatment ... I opted not too cause of the cost , fequency , the need for life and the only 50% success rate

my mother has an undiagnosed autoimmune disease and has had all the standard treatments, Plasma Exchange, IvIg and immunosuppressants. Of all three IvIg should the least amount of Improvement. Immunosuppressants(specifically cytoxan and prednisone) showed the most.

Default Ivig?

Go to the top blue bar and click on 'search' then put in 'IVIG'...You will find LOTS about it.
I have had an autoimmune neuropathy for over 4 years, and have been on IVIG for over 3... Please click on any post listed from the search, and you will probably learn more than you ever wanted to know....
Please, always, feel free to ask me questions about the whole shebang... I've been around the block, both good and bad...I understand how scary it can seem, but to me? It's the safest route given all options.
I usually post under the Peripheral Neuropathy forums, so feel free to peek and ask questions there as well. My philosophy? Auto-immune is gonna get ya one way or the other...PM me if you need specifics...I may have to ask some quirky questions about diagnosis and docs and tests and such, but they help point us all in the right way...
I've not had the 'cellcept' but it may be on my menu in the future...so check out that 'blue bar' and do a similar search...You will be surprised how many of us get a whole slew of treatments for all these auto-immune issues.
Scary tho it all can be, we are all here complaining, sharing and trying to keep that brain in GO mode! Do please, keep in mind, you and your husband are truly NOT alone! The worst is at first, not knowing what to know, to ask the questions to the answers you need to know-to get any answers you should know to ask questions to find out even more?
Do check out things and ask more questions...please - good heart and hope! - j

Yes I have had alot of experience with IVIG and Cellcept. I recieve IVIG every 4 weeks and take 2000 mg of cellcept a day. I am so much better. I was sick for 8 yrs and Doctors could not figure out what was wrong with me. I don't have a diagnosis ( 2 rare of a condition) but know that I have a few autoimmune diseases and the cellcept has finally worked along with the IVIG. Nothing else helped to get my life back. I am finally starting to get back to normal after 8 years of batteling. SO I recommend the IVIG - little side affects. No side affects with the cellcept. Life is good again. I went through years of other meds and high dose steroid infusions before the cellcept and IVIG... It works!
