Default need advice

Hi All,
I have been reading your posts and have a few questions. My mom is in the hospital, and has been in for 4 weeks, she was just transferred to a larger hospital last week because no one can seem to figure what is wrong with her. Mom has hydrocephalus and they have been looking for a shunt infection, but nothing turns up. Mom has had cat scans of head neck chest and abdomen ,all clear. The one thing that I was told was that in Jan. her thyroid levels show hyperthyroid, but when she was retested her levels were normal. She has just about every symptom, including enlarged neck veins. Is there any other testing I should ask them to do? Her hair is thinning, shes shaky, thin skin, unexplained respiratory problems, she has pain in her legs?, also more recently she has developed 2 large blisters on her right leg, but this could be from laying in bed so long, she is very lethargic, etc., I just want her to get a diagnosis, dermatology came to see the blisters and took samples for culture and skin samples too. Mom is on antibiotics but they don't seem to be making a difference. The other thing is that before mom got real sick, she would constantly complain of leg pain even just when you touched her skin. I guess dermatology is looking for an autoimmune disorder, any ideas?

I'm so sorry about your Mom, Smitty.

Just so you know, my thyroid numbers came up borderline in the beginning. I told the doc to go ahead and put my on Synthroid. I noticed a difference immediately!

I hope you find answers to help your dear Mom.
