Smile Astra 8 Immune Tonic

Hello everyone,

I just though i would mention a great Supplement which has helped me a lot.

I have Hashimotos thyroiditis.

This tonic has been unbelieveable in helping me relieve my symptoms and improve my energy/stamina and mental wellbeing.

It is called Astra 8 immune tonic, it is good for balancing the immune system not just for immune deficiencies but it reduces an overactive immune system also. I am sure it increases T-cells counts in those with immune deficiencies as well.

Astra 8 may be taken over a long period as and is an excellent daily formula and immune regulator. It may be used for fatigue, systemic weakness, adrenal deficiencies, diarrhea, muscle aches, and inability to concentrate. It also has adaptogenic properties - helping the body adapt to stress - and is useful for weak lungs. According to Chinese herbal theory, the ingredients in Astra 8 act to tonify the Lung, Spleen and Kidney Qi and Strengthen Wei Qi.

Astra 8 contains Astragalus (Huang Qi), an herb that has been the subject of much research because of its immune enhancing ability. Astragalus has been shown to have significant antiviral activity. All of the herbs in the formula are Qi tonics that support Astragalus with the intention of boosting the immune and energy systems. Ganoderma (Ling Zhi) is included for its immune enhancing effects. Schizandra (Wu Wei Zi) combined with Eleutheroginseng (Ci Wu Jia) promote body energy and mental activity while protecting the liver from chronic viral infections. Codonopsis (Dang Shen), and Licorice (Gan Cao) together treat immune deficiency and autoimmune disorders. Ligustrum (Nu Zhen Zi) promotes circulation and removes toxins from the liver, and also has immune enhancing properties. Oryza (Gu Ya) is a digestant.

I think anyone with a autoimmune disease should give this a go and see if it benefits them. It might not work for everyone but its worth a try.

Question

my son has found that anything with immune boosting properties seems to trigger a relapse of his Crohn's Disease

surely a formula like this, although made from excellent ingredients, would stimulate an already overactive immune system as in autoimmunity

or does it have more of an immuno-modulating effect?

I agree... Astrogalus is not recommended for patients with active autoimmune disease:
http://www.pdrhealth.com/drugs/altme...&contentId=174

The term autoimmune means that the body is making too many antibodies and attacking itself. There are many autoimmune diseases like Rheumatoid arthritis, Lupus, MS, some PNs etc.
Using herbs to stimulate the immune system is not a good idea.

People with low immune status, are typically called immune deficiency, and that is another thing entirely.

Astra 8 also contains Licorice root, which may create problems for people with hypertension.

In general I'd suggest consulting a doctor before using this powerful herbal product. It may interfere with some of the drug treatments being used. It also has a bleeding warning for those using blood thinning drugs or aspirin.

I believe it is immuno-modulating but for some people it could also be not very helpful.

For myself it has been helpful very much so.
