Hi,
I saw the sleep doc. He asked me if I had ever used a light box in the a.m. to adjust my sleep clock. Several years ago I did that for two weeks. I stopped because I got anxious and agitated (mood problems.) I called in to work to ask for a day off tomorrow (have an appt with the neuro from the hospital) and the boss asked if I am all right. I said fine. She doesn't believe me. (She's asked me the question before and I always say I'm fine.) I'm exhuasted. I need to learn to sleep. M. |

Hi,
I don't need the night box. My body clock is not the problem. I can sleep at any time. I am afraid of bed time. I'm depressed. M. |

Okay, I got mixed up with the discussion.
Thanks for explaining. that is one of the things I like about this room. No one is upset about having to explain. Donna |

I get up tight when I try to go to sleep. That's been a problem for me for a long time.
Even with the seroquel,I get up tight, and wonder if I'm going to have a heart attack right around the time I'm trying to sleep sometimes. It's not the seroquel,or any other medicine. It's me. It's hard to explain. I don't understand it. Residual anxiety comes into being when I'm trying to relax, and sleep. I don't know what it is. I hate it. My sleep inner clock is all out of wack. I've been going to sleep from 4:30 AM,to 6:30 AM. resently. I hate this. I am alone. I've been alone like this for a long time. BF ![]() ![]() ![]() |

I feel sorry for all of us who have sleep issues.
There are more people who sleep poorly than sleep soundly. IMHO. so many folks talk about their sleep issues. my klonipin is working half of the time....hope that I am not getting hypomanic.... bizi

Dear Friend,
![]() ![]() ![]() Anxiety at night can be awful. I'm so sorry that you go through that. Regarding moving your brain and body to sleep earlier: Here's a great book http://www.amazon.com/Lights-Out-Sle...3246022&sr=1-1 Lights Out: Sleep, Sugar, and Survival (Paperback) by T. S. Wiley The author says that we have messed up our body clocks. He says that we need more sleep over all and we need to sleep earlier -- like we did before we had electricity. He says to stay away from the blue light of computers and tvs by 9:00 pm. (If we do stay up late, we can wear rose / amber colored sunglasses to block the light.) Outside sunlight in the am helps. He thinks that diet helps too. =-=-=-= Anyway, there is more. I found the book useful and had lots of pages marked. =-=-=- Quote:
Can you sleep easily in the daylight? That is how it is for me. Klonopin helps a lot but it does not solve the whole problem. Do you stay up on purpose to avoid the anxiety? I can sympathize. M. |

Dear Donna,
It's ok. The docs don't understand about the sleep anxiety / phobia. Most of the time I don't bother explaining to them anymore. Dear Bizi, I wish that we could all fullly enjoy our sleep. It seems so fundamental. M. |

Dear Beth,
I don't think it is about good or bad habits. But maybe for SOME people it is about learning new ways to make bedtime easier -- just a thought. I'm pretty sure that sticking to a schedule everyday is good for some people. Some folks even eat and exercise on schedule. I wonder if those people go to sleep easily at regularly scheduled times. . . not sure if I've met these people but I imagine they are here. M. |
