Let me say that I am so happy that your new pdoc really listened to you.
That is terrific!
Did she recommend a therapist for you or can she do that(talk therapy) as well as medication management?
ARE you still taking the effexor or was that before. Did you recently stop taking this med? I ask because you may be experiencing some withdrawl symptoms.
keep posting
I am sorry that you had a panic attack that must have been awful.
welcome again!

I remember posting in the other thread. But I'm so glad that Mari could
start you a thread. I have a problem with names so I didn't try.

I am really glad you have a new therapist.

Default Stacie - were you on Effexor/did you stop cold?

Hi Stacie,

i see you quoted BJ's post (below) about discontinuing Effexor and changing pdoc and meds and buzzing. Is this what is happening to you also? Did you discontinue Effexor or another medication abruptly?

If so, that could be the cause of the buzzing (withdrawal symptom, as Bizi also said in her post). Effexor and many other meds do need to be stopped slowly.

Please post back and let us know what is happening, and if you are in fact "buzzing" do call the pdoc ASAP - that is not a side effect to be ignored.

Welcome aboard, and here's wishing you the best

I met my new pdoc on Friday. I was a nervous wreck so by the time I went in I felt a panic attack coming on and I’ve been feeling anxious ever since.

We started out slow with the usual intros and she asked me why I was there? I was floored and couldn’t think what to say so I said I’m bipolar and I need help controlling my feelings whether by meds or just somebody to talk to. After I got those words out I froze because I realized what I had said. I said I was BIPOLAR. I think we’re going to hit it off because she let me talk about what I wanted not like the other guy I had. I talked about my mom for 45 minutes are she urged me to keep talking. Yes I cried a lot but she said it was okay to let it out and I needed that.

My meds have been changed so maybe it’s one of those? I wasn’t taking anything except Effexor since I walked out of the other pdoc’s office. Now I have Depakote, Lamictal for depression, Seroquel to help me sleep and Klonopin. But all I’ve taken is the Depakote (750mg) about 3 hours ago. Or maybe I’ve let it go too long???
