I used to love those in-between-cartoon cartoons they used to run on Saturday mornings... to teach kids grammar and history and the constitution and stuff... Schoolhouse Rock!

I didn't have tv as a kid, so I don't have tv memories to share with others :confused: NPR did an interview with one of the singers. That was the first time I had heard the School House Rock songs!

i never thought of this song as happy or sad.

the strongest thing it elicits in me is nostalgia, which is almost a sadness over happy things. but i also find in it a sense of longing , hope and ... desperation - yes, opposites.

complicated blend of emotions for an otherwise pretty simple song. btw i have always liked this song.
