Dear Sharla,
That was helpful.
Your mom was helpful.
Tell her thank you from me too.

Dear Pam,
My mom had this done about 4 years ago.
She didn't tell any of her kids until a few weeks later.
She's not going to tell me about it now (she's weird)
I do remember (my sis talked about it to me a little bit later on) that for two or three nights she slept on the sofa instead of going up the stairs to bed. Also, she had difficulty using the bathroom for a week or so.
She was very happy to get the procedure and was positive about.

Sharla is making good points. For people who are looking forward to it, the procedure can be managed.

I'm guessing that for the first couple of days you would not do cooking, laundry, or house work. Maybe freeze some food in the freezer or plan on them getting take out or making sandwhiches.
Make plans for some one to come over each day for the first few days -- or as long as you need it.
Talk to your doc. Get some home health aides.

M.

Oh boy, I don't think I can do this...I really don't. The gyno said she does them through the vagina too, and the recovery time is a few weeks. My autistic son won't understand that he can't just shove me and hug me HARD. I can just see them having to deal with me hemmorraging because of something bad happening. We'll see, hopefully things will get better and I won't need it, but if it goes over 7 days again I am definitely going to think more about it, see if we could get some home health aides to come out and take care of my son for me....THAT"S my biggest concern...THanks Sharla, I really appreciate you sharing your mothers take on what it was like for her. It makes me feel a little better to hear that the pain level was bearable...

THanks everyone for the concern, I am still feeling like a deer in headlights about the whole thing...

Thanks Sharla, he's a really kind hearted little person. My little autistic angel. Though he hugs hard he's gonna have to be gentle with me I am starting now to try to get him to listen...

Still worried as heck about this, but I know nothing can change what will be, since whatever will be will be....

Pam

Two thoughts, One you might talk to your mom. For one thing you
might be able to stay with them for the first two or three weeks.

This would help with Jackie. And then you also might be able to
get someone to help Jack with jackie.

I would definately work things out. You can't afford to let things
get worse and need this as a emergency surgery.

Maybe Mom would let me stay for awhile...That might be possible...I doubt Jack would like it but hey, this is my body and I can't trust that my son won't end up hurting me BADLY.

Pam

I don't think it matters what Jack thinks. Its much more important
that you are safe.

Dear Pammy,
somewhere I read that ablations did not neccesarily stop your periods. That they might lessen the amount and the duration of your period....maybe that is what you are experiencing?
