I have had lupus for many years, although it was much worse as a young person.
Certainly, each person is different.... What I have found helpful over the years, and I think you sense this very thing.... is that stress and 'over-doing' can cause lots of flare ups and other problems. Ironically, I find that I can do a fair amount of 'regular" things if I am VERY careful in life. That means getting plenty of rest, avoiding extreme stress, being very careful with food, practicing very good overall self care. This is hard w/ a teenage dau in the house! There is this book called something like "Yes, your teenager is crazy," that kinda sums up what that is like! Sometimes it is very hard to get the cooperation of others, employers, etc. who don't 'get' it...which is too bad. Hopefully, you have a friend or family member that can help you out when you are under too much stress or simply feel particularly bad. Even think about who might help you out a bit w/ your dau. Additionally, I personally don't hesitate to take Naproxen if I have body aches, etc. It does seem to help me out. Take care...with creativity...a little help from others...determination...rest...a prayer or two...you will feel much better before you know it. Fingers crossed and hugs. |
