Default It's snowing like crazy here.

Hi everyone. It's snowing like crazy where I am. They say it might snow up to 24 inches. I'm in Virginia. I hope that there are no emergencies. Cars, and Police vehicles are sliding into ditches. BF

Heart eeks 24 inches!!!

it's been snowing here on and off... but nowhere NEAR 24 inches! maybe just 2 or 3 overnight by the looks of it.

goodness, Steve, I hope you have a bunch of provisions in the house so you don't have to so much as stick your nose outside.

(Unless at some point you feel like going and dancing under the flakes of course - or even walking - i still love snowflakes falling on me ) but ... i doubt it is very alluring to do either if it means being thigh deep in the stuff!!

I am really glad to hear from you!!! Please keep in touch!

I too hope with you that that weather won't cause accidents or major outages.

(((warm, toasty hugs)))

It's still coming down. My car looks like a eglu. There's a possibility of a blizzard near Washington DC,in the Delaware area which isn't but about 100 miles away from me.

Wind is blowing the snow around a little. I hope those drifts aren't to bad. As soon as the snow started sticking, cars started sliding down roads, and into ditches. The roads where not pre treated with salt,or sand in this county. The Governor has now asked for Federal disaster assistance as far as I know. That got the trucks, and plows out here. It's still snowing like crazy. This is the kind of snow that I remember when I was a kid.

I still have power, but if it goes out,I have two propane heaters, and I bought 4 small 16 0z propane canisters. I also bought size D batteries, and charged battery powered lights, and plug in power sources.

I've been in a situation where I had no power,or heat in a ice storm. I hate ice storms. It's kind of scary when it becomes colder, and colder in a house, and the authorities say there's not going to be any power for days. I'm prepaired. I've even have those hunter's hot hand pouches. I have another heater on standby,in case the other fails. My car is filled with gas. I have a bunch of bagels, and food, and bottled water. BF

and especially for letting us know all your preparations. Sounds like you are all set. I still hope the power doesn't go out... is so inconvenient. And i hope your internet connection isn't affected so you can keep talking to us.

I am really relieved to hear about all your emergency measures. (sounds as though you learned the hard way though.)

Thank you Waves. I've learned the hard way through Ice storms, and power outages.

Thank goodness that it's not sleeting,and/or raining in this storm. It's 28 degrees, and only snowing. Gosh is it ever snowing.

I'm listening to the Police, and the Fire department on two VHF,and UHF scanners. The police have been talking all night,to assist people. I've never heard it this buzy, this late at night,or early in the morning. BF

Dear Steve,
I wonder if you took any pictures of the snow?
That's good that you are in a warm place with your cat.
Take care.

Hi Steve

Keep warm, and keep listening to what is going on. It sounds like the airports
are closing in your area too. So please be careful, this makes it so much more sounding bad.

Hi Mari My camera is ready. I just haven't been out there yet. We have received right around 2 feet. Two counties over recieved 30 Inches. My car looks like a mound of snow. You can see a little bit of the tires, and antennas.
