Smile confession....

Since taking my watercolor class, it ended a month ago...I had not picked up a brush ...felt like it was over...but tonight...I picked them up again!!!!
I am just a beginner but am trying...I need to buy a beginner's book to follow along with...they don't have anymore classes that I can tell just yet.
so will have to do this on my own for now.
I had several books but they have vanished.
Sad to think that maybe I threw them away.....
sigh~
bizi
ahha!
I bet the library has books that I could check out!!!!!!

Hi bizi,
At least you have picked up a brush again.
Painting is a very calming therapy.
I play a lot with colours as my work involves colour matching.
But I can't 'draw' or 'paint' as an art form to save my life.
I am very sensitive to colours, so any colour with blue tones - obvious blues, purples, mauves, lavenders, emeralds or even turquoises make me uncomfortable.
I love the warmer colors. Thats why I really enjoyed the watercolour painting of that tree you posted.
Do please post some of the new paintings that you will start now.
I will be looking forward to them.

Thumbs up enjoy painting Bizi

hey there!

glad to here you will be at it again. yes, i'm sure the library will have books. but even if you can't find the books you want, or before you do... maybe just "splash around a bit" ... relax and enjoy... let one stroke lead to the next! try experiencing the process without thinking about the end result.

have fun!

Hi Bizi,

I think it's best to paint when you feel like it and not feel guilty about it when you don't. It's important that our hobbies are things that soothe us, no stress us. (That's what work is for.)

I really can't believe that you're only a beginner: your work is just so good.

Happy Painting

I agree. Also I think just working through the painting would be good.

This is the lament of many artists. Hard to get started.....

You might try using smaller scale paper, smaller brushes.
I found this was helpful to me. I don't like working large.

Find your subject....either abstract or some favorite subject.
Find your scale.
And do not place restrictions, or self blame when you fail.
Then you can have a good time, and produce some interesting things.
